8月に入り、夏本番！！

夏を楽しんでいる方も多いのではないでしょうか。

 

さて、今回はASANTE PROJECTの活動を外国の方々にも知っていただくため、日本語と英語の2言語で記事を書きたいと思います！

 

だんだんと9月のタンザニア渡航も近づき始め、メンバーのモチベーションも上がってくる中で、東京本部では、先日、

「タンザニアの教育についてのワークショップ」

を行いました。

テーマは主に以下の4つ。詳しく内容をご紹介していきます！

 

 

①アサンテ立ち上げのエピソード

 

立ち上げ当時の活動映像をメンバー全員で見る機会をもうけ、どのようにASANTE　PROJECTが立ち上げられたのかを振り返りました！

立ち上げ当時のタンザニアの様子と現在の様子の違いに驚くメンバーも！

支援する幼稚園も、立ち上げ当時の2016年からこの3年間で大きく変化を遂げました。

 

 

※TAG DAY CARE CENTERの教室には、黒板が出来ました！

 

 

※Cleopatra Nursery Schoolには机といすが置かれ、窓が作られ、壁もかわいくペイントされました！

 

タンザニアの国の発展や、現地のニーズに合った支援の大切さを改めて感じることができた有意義な時間でした。

 

 

②タンザニアの教育制度

タンザニアの教育制度のおさらいを行いました。

タンザニアでは小学校1年次から英語の科目に取り込むなど、日本の教育制度とは異なる部分がたくさんあります。

③モンテッソーリ教育

モンテッソーリ教育とは「自己教育力」を重視したもので、幼い頃から自立を促す教育制度です。

支援校のANGEL LIGHT BABY CARE SCHOOLの校長先生はこの資格を持っており、それぞれの年齢に応じた教育を行なっています。

私たち自身がこの制度を意識することによって、現地での活動を更に深いものに出来るのではないかと考えています。

 

 

④タンザニアの教育課題

長い間タンザニアにおいて課題となっているドロップアウト率は未だに高く、親の世代から通じる負の連鎖が起きてしまっていることや、教育制度自体に問題があります。

政府が様々な取り組みを行なっている中で、今後いかにタンザニアの就学率や識字率、教育の質に変化がもたらされるのかに着目していきたいと思います！

 

 

このワークショップを通じて、私たちがタンザニアで教育支援を行う上で、知っておくべき基礎情報を再確認することが出来ました。

渡航まで1か月を切り、渡航メンバーも着々と準備を進めているところです。

We are the “ASANTE PROJECT” from Tokyo!

 

From this time, we are going to write our article in English and Japanese to let foreign people know about us! So please feel free to read this and comment below if you have any question.

 

Time goes very quickly…and it is already August!

We are planning to visit Tanzania in a month and our motivation is growing up.

To prepare what we are going to do over there, we had a workshop about education system in Tanzania today.

We focused on these topics down below…

 

 

1 How ASANTE PROJECT was established

Looking back at the time when we started this project, the principle of a kindergarten was telling us that

“What we want is just pencil and notebook not toys…”

That is how we started to support education in Tanzania and we realised how much we have been focused on the NEEDS.

I strongly believe that this is the most important thing when you think about volunteer.

 

 

2 Education system in Tanzania

There were huge differences between Japanese and Tanzanian education such as the age that we start learning English.

Focusing on these systems and pointing the NEEDS would make better activities for us and for them.

3 Montessori education system

Focusing on children’s Independence is the important thing for education as Montessori education system and it focuses on INDEPENDENCE.

The teacher who works at Angel light has a license of this system so they are working hard on it.

We also need to consider about this when we do our activities.

 

 

4 Educational issues in Tanzania

There are still some issues that is not solved by this time… We need to look at the way how the government works and the quality of education today.

 

 

We learned  the differences between Japanese and Tanzanian  education system.

Through this workshop, I realised there are still lots of things that we do not know about education in Tanzania and we need to know them!!!
